Although Vitiligo is not like skin infection or cancer and it is merely on skin and it causes no damage to other organs of body but brings great damage to self esteem of a person. Vitiligo has not curable and whatever medication has been invented or treatment has only been preferred for the sole cause of slowing the process of de-pigmentation in skin and covering up the spots affected by Vitiligo.
Famous treatments that have proven to be useful for patients of Vitiligo are; UV rays treatment where with help of UV rays lamp and some special ointment melanin is reproduced in skin. This is done under medical supervision. Other treatments for Vitiligo include through Herbal and homeopathic methods. Results for it have been positive but it takes up a lot of time and recovery is slow.
Else then these cosmetic surgery and tanning are also methods to cover up Vitiligo marks. These solutions hide current Vitiligo spots but give no surety for patches that can occur in future.
